New York was my favorite part of the trip!
*We were hosted by Holli Legget in lower Manhattan, 2 blocks off of broadway. Many thanks to her for housing, an AWESOME personal tour, and even some help in our endeavor to get home (explained below).
*We saw the great view from the Empire State building.
*We visited the famous points of interest such as the residence of Yoko Ono, Grand Central Station, Central Park, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty (from the ferry), Times Square, and much much more!
*So why a picture of some buildings and a stop light, you may ask. If you can see - there is a small bumb on the side of the farthest building. This bump represents a man climbing the outside of the New York Times building with absolutely no safety gear. We saw LIVE as the second of two climber ascended the times building. For more info, check out the news stories! http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/06/climber-tells-of-test-run-at-times-building/?hp
*"The whip cream on top" included the broadway performance of "Phantom of the Opera," which, in my opinion, was the highlight of the visit.
*And whats a visit to NY without the "cherry on top?" We prepared to leave Friday morning, only to find that our vehicle had been towed. To make a long story short, 3 mature people missed a "no parking" sign and we spent a couple of hours rescuing the roadtripmobile from the NY pound.
